Let's call this little girl, "Cutie-Pie". Trevor in Erin no longer had a need for Cutie-Pie so I picked her up and brought her home. When I saw her, l knew I needed to have her. She is not too big or small and can be used in any room in the house.
I cleaned her up right away by sanding her down to the bare wood. I knew right away I couldn't paint her in dark Ash or Coal black mixed with Dark Walnut stain so I opted to go with a lighter, fresher look. Since I had some Raw Silk FMP left over from a prior project, I figured that was the route to go.

I initially did a 50/50 Algonquin wash on the drawers and handles but it came out more pink then tan so I sanded them back to bare wood. I decided I would keep them natural and just put a polycrylic finish on them.
After 5 coats of Raw Silk on the frame, I added a homemade, foodgrade coat of beeswax for protection. I also used beeswax on the sliders to make the drawers function smoothly.✌️

We think the end result is a cozy, classic piece that can serve many needs in any room in the house.
