This is another piece that was given to me from my old neighbour who recently moved. Since I am mainly focusing on commission work these days, I wanted to mix things up a bit on my own personal piece and go with a colour I have not used in a while. I had a few in mind and took some sage advice from my European BFF and went with Homestead Blue MFP. After 3 coats I was surprised how much I liked the colour. I also realized that the piece had a lot of details I wanted to highlight with some black wax. Once applied I knew I made the right decision.

When done I put it together for some staging and did not like the the orange coloured shelves that you could see through the windows. Since I used black wax, I decided to paint the shelves and interior Ash from Fusion. I have to admit the decision was the right one. After painting it Ash, I decided to add more black wax to the Homestead Blue which balanced out the entire piece. The original knobs were cleaned and reused.
This piece is very versatile and can be used as an entrance table, a console table, a small liquor cabinet, a TV stand or a buffet. The shelves can be removed if needed, again adding to the versitility of the piece.
It really needs to be seen in person to appreciate the depth the black wax brings to the piece.
Please see the before and after to appreciate the work put into the piece.
