Entry table refreshed in Pebble Fusion Mineral Paint

brentmacneil

This table was a piece my neighbour gave me before he moved away. The table was new with the price tag taped to the leg. It was your typical golden coloured stain top and gun metal grey painted metal frame. A decent but plain looking table.

This table sat in my basement for approximately a year before I got around to it. Initially I saw this piece refinished in a dark walnut stain with a black painted frame.

After sanding the top, I did not like the time I was spending on the middle pane section so I made the decision to paint it instead. I selected my custom blue I have been using recently and after 2 coats I felt a degree of guilt using the same colour so I decided I would go with something else. I ended up selecting Pebble FMP which is a cool white with a bit of grey to it. After 3 coats of Pebble I then dry brushed it using Coal Black FMP to give it a distressed vibe. Once done, I added a coat of polycrylic topcoat for durability.

Next was a light sanding to the frame and a few coats of flat black paint.

The end result too me is a unique, versatile piece that is can be used as a sofa table, entrance table, a plant table...
