I picked this piece up with 3 others from a local family. My initial intention was to purchase a washstand but picked up the remaining pieces as well. Once I brought this table to my house, it quickly became "that piece". Within a day I prioritized this piece over the washstand and started working on it.
The top was sanded down to it's original grain keeping some of the original stain/pigment in the wood to add to the rustic look of the top. Once done, it was stained in Dark Walnut and protected with a coat of water-based poly. The legs and frame were cleaned, sanded and painted with 2 coats of Ash MFP and protected with a coat of natural beeswax. As you can see, the results are amazing. Pics were taken during the day and early evening to show the contrasting wood grains on the top. I love pieces that change with natural light.
This would make an amazing entrance table, a console table and would fit in any space as a conversation piece.

Wax used to protect the piece was purchased @bluestone_house at our local Home Hardware store.
