Let's call this beauty, Camille.

While browsing Marketplace, Camille popped up in my area for free and I immediately reached out about picking her up. If you know me, you know I like unique pieces.
When I went down to pick her up, I was amazed in the quality as well as the size and weight. This piece is pure wood, top to bottom. Getting Camille loaded and unloaded was an adventure.😀

Once the sanding was done, I added 3 coats of Annie Sloan Country Grey. Since Camille was already a classy/regal looking gal, treating her as such moving forward was the way to go.

I knew I wanted to add some old world charm with some dark wax but I was undecided on how much. After a coat of clear wax, I decided to add a little bit of dark wax to see how it would look, before I added more. I settled on a little bit of dark wax to compliment the Country Grey and the original handles.
After the waxing was done, I stained the top in Provincial Stain knowing I wanted something dark but not too dark to compliment the rest of the piece. I think I made the right choice. Once the stain dried, I added 2 coats of dead flat matte polycrylic for protection.

For those who argue that chalk paint shows too many brush strokes, I challenge them to experiment with the paint. In this case, I added about 10% water to smooth it out and it worked very well.
Unfortunately the pics do not do the piece justice as Camille is much more charming in person.
Due to Camille's size, I see her being very versatile in any home. She is big enough to be used as an entrance table, or a traditional dresser as well as an entertainment unit or a credenza. She will be a head turner in any room.
Dimensions: 32.5"Hx51 1/4"Wx20"D
