Small table

brentmacneil

Kim brought this little table when she came to pick up another table she purchased from me. She wanted me to match this table to the finish of the table she just grabbed. I told her it shouldn't be a problem, but not to expect the top to match exactly since it was a different wood grain. Apparently this piece has been handed down to Kim, so I needed to take extra care with it.😀

The first step was to clean and sand off the existing finishing. Once done, several coats of Aubusson Blue Annie Sloan Chalk Paint was applied to the piece. Much like the prior table, I applied the paint to give it some texture.

Once I was satisfied with the coverage, I dry-brushed the piece using Athenian Black from Annie Sloan. The texture from the Aubusson Blue allowed for the dry-brushing to give it a moody vibe. The last step was protecting the piece with some Annie Sloan clear wax.

After the painting was done, I applied a coat of Provincial Stain to the top. Once dried I applied 2 coats of matte polycrylic for durability.

Pics have been sent and Kim is excited to pick the piece up.
