I received this tallboy this week and was intrigued by the lines and overall design of the piece. Knowing I had a little break before the next wave of commission work, I decided to jump on this as quickly as possible. Since it has been a while that I have done a "softer" piece, I decided this was the route to go. To be honest, as soon as I saw the piece, I thought "Sacred Sage"!
Knowing the wood grain is blonde I decided to keep a portion natural by sanding it to it's natural grain and protecting it with a water-based poly. This would compliment the colour and tone of the Sacred Sage MFP that I used on the remainder of the piece.
By selecting Sacred Sage and keeping a portion of the piece natural, I felt the safest bet was to paint the handles pure gold.
Once all the coats were applied, I finished off the piece with a coat of my homemade foodgrade beeswax which brought out the richness in the entire piece.
You are welcome to check my page for other available pieces to purchase or simply follow me as I post pieces weekly. I also have an Instagram account under the same name.
