I grabbed this little guy on the curb alongside a hutch the day before garbage day. Right away I knew I was going to refinish it in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I went through my selection of paints and decided on Country Grey. After cleaning it and sanding it down, I applied 4 coats of paint. Admittedly, I found the magazine rack a bit tough to paint inside the slats where the magazine go but I managed nonetheless.
I was on the fence of staining the top and drawer to compliment the colour but decided on a wash using the same colour. I think it was a wise choice.
After the wash was completed, I added a coat of AS clear wax on the entire piece for protection.
Lastly, I replaced the knob with something nicer, yet still rustic.
I thought of making it look a bit more rustic but figured a solid coat of paint will suffice as the piece, albeit small, is unique as is. You will certainly see this used often in staging other pieces moving forward. If someone is interested in purchasing it, I am open to the idea as I can always find something else to paint to use for staging.😀
