Two level corner table in Ash Fusion Mineral Paint

brentmacneil

I was lucky to find this unwanted table on the side of the road on 4th Line coming home from soccer and immediately did a U-Turn to pick it up.

I was marvelled by the condition and quality of the piece and how heavy it was. This piece is solid wood to the core.

Once I brought it home and put it beside a dresser I just finished I was surprised how big it was. Immediately I saw this piece in an Ash or Coal Black MFP mixed with Dark Walnut stain.

I sanded the piece to it's natural grain and applied the stain on both table tops. The remainder of the piece took 3 costs of Ash. I like all tops that will be utilized often to be stained and topcoated for durability. Once the stain dried I added 2 coats of Tung Oil for protection and to draw out the wood grain even more.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! I added homemade foodgrade beeswax to all painted areas for protection.

This piece is very versatile and can find a home in any room big or small. If you like MCM and have a furnished home or room, this classic sleek table would be a welcome addition.
