Dresser and side table in Soapstone fusion Montreal paint

brentmacneil

Terresa, who happens to be one of my favourite returning customers reached out to me about doing these pieces for her daughter's room a while ago. After several conversations and sharing ideas with colours and finishing styles we decided to do both pieces in Soapstone from MFP and a black antique glaze from Bluestone House.

The dresser was once Terresa's as a child who has handed it down to her daughter so it has been around a while. As you can see the dresser was done in your typical white with simple pulls. The end table in black was something Terresa picked up as a bedside table.

Both pieces took 3 coats of Soapstone, finished with the glaze. The glaze was listed as a topcoat but I was not overally happy with the result so I added a matte finish sealer to protect both pieces. I swapped out the old pulls and added new ones that were refinished in a matte black to compliment the piece much better.

Terresa's daughter who is an ultra talented artist in L.A. will be visiting this summer so hopefully she appreciates the new, modern look.

As always, thanks Terresa for the work and fun messaging that we always seem to enjoy.

Please see before and after pics.
