One handsome Tallboy in Ash Fusion Mineral Paint

brentmacneil

Last weekend Megan sent me a text and asked if I was interested in 2 pieces she had. Megan has given me 3 pieces before and I could not pass up on her current offer. This dresser was the match of the other piece she gave me a few months ago.

As usual, I immediately saw an Ash/Dark Walnut combo but wanted to do it a bit differently this time. I decided to stain the dresser top as well as the top drawer only and paint the remainder in Ash MFP. I knew the stained top and top drawer would be too much due to the waterfall design so I painted the waterfall in Ash to seperate the 2. I really appreciate the outcome.

After the stain was completed, I protected it with 3 coats of tung oil. The 3 coats of paint was protected with a coat of homemade foodgrade beeswax.

Initially I had intentions of repainting the original hardware in oil rubbed paint and antiquing them with copper guilding wax but had second thoughts. I then painted them in oil rubbed paint but was not feeling that as well. I then thought matte black but it only worked on the stained drawer, but not on the Ash drawers. I then did some quick blasts of bronze paint on the handles, then oil rubbed, then bronze to get a nice textured antique look. Boom!

Once put all together, I was told I have another "handsome" piece and I "killed it". 😀

Dimensions: 42.5"Hx27.5"Wx16"D

I will be posting another waterfall dresser tomorrow. While similar in style and colour, a bit difference in finish. Contact me if you would like to purchase both as a set.

You are welcome to check my page for other available pieces to purchase or simply follow me as I post pieces weekly. I also have an Instagram account under the same name.
